Oh for the Love of Makeup!!!

Welcome to my Beauty Blog! My name is Jessica and I am a mother to 5 outrageously cute children! My oldest Kai is 10, Reiko is 8, Xander is 3 and our twins Brooke and Ashton are almost 2 years old. My plan for this blog is to test and review makeup, find the best deals and show off my makeup work!

I have always had a love of makeup, I may not have known how to apply it well, but I loved it. My main memories at 12/13 years old and beginning with makeup was buying bright blue eye shadow, applying it and my mother telling me in the nicest way possible that I looked like a hooker and she would teach me how to apply makeup.  Thankfully she taught me well the basics and ever since then I have found a true passion for makeup.

Life hasn't always been easy in our house, after we had our first and we enjoyed being parents so much, we decided to have another one. Well in a twist of fate, our son Reiko was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 3 very severe. In layman's terms, he has Brittle Bone Disease and fractures all the time. At this point we are at over 500 fractures in 8 years. It took me 3 years to decide to try again for one more and sadly our first attempt ended in an early miscarriage, but a few months later we found out I was pregnant again and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. We had decided we were done and so my husband had a vasectomy, we went back twice to make sure that he was sterile and they said that he was, but low and behold, about 4 months later, just after returning to work following my maternity leave, I found out I was pregnant, just as we were about to leave for our Make-a-Wish trip to Disney World. Another month after that we were completely shocked to hear it was twins! So life has been one big rollercoaster ride for 8 years now, but its been pretty awesome too. But anyways back to the whole makeup thing.

After having the twins, my beauty regimen seriously lacked, I barely put on mascara let alone anything else. Lipstick became my thing, because it made me feel put together. But now that the twins have gotten older, my passion has full on sparked again. It started in January when I was added to a Facebook makeup party group, I bought some products and then decided I was so excited by it that I wanted to sell the makeup as well. I did really great at it for about 6-7 weeks until I decided that I didn't want to be tied down to any one brand. I want to explore and hopefully begin a side hobby of becoming a freelance makeup artist!
